The Gold-ringed Tanager is a true gem of the Western Andes
From the genus bangsia, perhaps one of the prettiest of the Tanager family. It is endemic to the western slope of the Andes in Colombia, more precisely to the Chocó mountains. Round in shape and beautiful in color, it is one of the main targets on our trips to biogeographical Chocó.
Bird of the month - December
There are 5 species of bangsia in Colombia and 3 possible to find in Montezuma mountains where we took this pictures.
