Flatbills… did you know there are in the flycatcher group? Let us introduce you to the Fulvous-breasted Flatbill
Described in 1860, this medium to small flycatcher is well spread in South America in the humid mountain forest of the Andean slopes in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Bolivia.
The name flatbill comes from the shape of its bill.

Not so easy to find, it is one of the target species in our tours in the Andes. This video was taken in the Choco mountains of Las Tangaras Reserve in one of our last tours.
